2 Cor 4:16-18
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Why I love the Word of God is that it is like a road map to a traveller. If you follow what the map says, you will arrive at your destination no matter how the present surroundings may look like.
Having a wrong view of the present can adversely affect your progress to the future. It is very easy in the journey of life to be distracted by your present circumstances. It is possible to give up on life simply because of the challenges that you are currently facing which may appear impossible. You might be there reading this word and things appear not to be working out for you. You hear of brother so and so or sister so and so testifying and you are wondering when your turn will come. I want to tell you that your turn is coming.
Look at the above verse again. I want to draw your attention to verse 18: while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. Listen to this one. Faith does no deny the existence of things which are seen. Faith does not deny the existence of problems. Faith makes a decision not to look at them. Faith makes a decision not be influenced by what is seen, by the present circumstances. Faith makes a decision to look at what is not seen. What is not seen is the truth from the Word of God about you. What is not seen is what God has promised you in His Word. Faith makes a decision not to be driven by the circumstances not matter how big or how small. Faith makes a decision to be driven ONLY BY THE WORD OF GOD. There is the truth about you that is not seen. There is the potential in you that has not yet been revealed. There is a side of you which no body knows. There is only One who knows, that is God. Take you time to discover it and you will see what God has in store for you!
1 Cor 2:9
But as it is written:
"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him."
