Numbers 13:26-28
Now they departed and came back to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel in the Wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh; they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.. Then they told him, and said: "We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there. NKJV
Have you ever been given an assignment in the Land of Giants? I mean a situation where you really felt small, helpless and any attempt looked like a waste of time? Such a situation is what I call a Land of Giants. If you have never been found in the Land of Giants I can tell you for sure that one of these days you will come face to face with giants. The walk of faith will at one time or the other take you to the Land of Giants. Did you know that the Land of Giants is also the Land of Milk and Honey? The Land of Giants becomes the Land of Milk and Honey once the giants have been defeated! Ask champions and they will tell you of their experiences in the Land of Giants. David met a giant by the name of Goliath. Joseph had an experience in the Land of Giants when he found himself in the pit, sold as a slave and then finally in prison in a foreign land. Daniel survived the giants when he was thrown in the lions den. Our Master Jesus met the giants on the Cross of Calvary. Let me tell you something, in the School of Progress, the road to success passes through the Land of Giants. Anyone who runs away from giants can forget about success! There are giants in family! There are giants in ministry! There are giants in politics! There are giants in the academic world. There are giants in the professional world! There are giants in the business world and so on.
In the example of the twelve spies above we notice some powerful things. All the twelve men that were sent out had seen the display of the mighty power of God in parting the Red Sea and defeating the forces of Pharaoh. They saw how God fed them with manna. They saw how God gave them water from the rock. All of them saw the good land. All of them saw the giants. All of them believed something. All of them spoke something. But here is the fundamental difference: The ten spies had their focus on the giants while the two that is Caleb and Joshua had their focus of God. In the end they all got what they believed.
You might be reading this article and you are in the Land of Giants. You might be in the middle of a big challenge. Do not give up. Listen to me there is nothing greater than our God. There is nothing too hard for the Lord. If you focus on God you will defeat those giants. Never allow any negativity in your life. Look at what is recorded about Caleb in Num 13:30
Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, "Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it
Jehoshaphat was also faced with giants. This is what is written in 2 Chron 20:15-23
“…Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's…. You will not need to fight in this battle… stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you…Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you…So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper… he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army … Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated…”
Believe the Lord and let victory be yours in Jesus name!
