For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory –2 Corinthians 4:17
There are some critical things that you must know about afflictions as a child of God.
Firstly, you must know that your affliction is light. How do I know? Well the Bible says it. It says 'our light affliction'. If it is light then it means you can bear it. If you can bear it then it means that affliction cannot kill you unless you allow it to do so. Whatever trial that comes along your way has already been weighed by God. God does not allow any trial which you are not able to bear to come along your way. We can therefore conclude that you have the ability to survive the affliction that you might be facing at the moment. Just keep pressing do not give up.
Secondly, you must also know that whatever affliction you are passing through it is for a moment. That means it will soon be over. That financial challenge will soon be over! That family challenge will soon be over! That health challenge will soon be over in Jesus name! Look at what the Bible says in Ps 34:19
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
The Lord will deliver you from them all! The Lord will not deliver you from some of them. The Lord will deliver you from them ALL! All means 100%. All means all. The Bible says, "Weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning." You can shout Hallelujah!
Thirdly, you must also know that whatever affliction you might be facing is working for you a 'far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory'. Satan does not know that after that trial there will be a crown for you. Satan keeps making the same mistake over and over again. He made the same mistake on Joseph by selling him to Egypt. Look at what Joseph said to his brothers in Gen 50:19-20:
"Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God?  But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
Satan made the mistake on Daniel. By throwing him in the lions den, Daniel got his promotion! Satan made the same mistake on Jesus. He did not know that by sending Jesus to the cross he was setting up a trap for his own down fall and great deliverance for mankind! This time Satan is making a similar mistake on you! You will soon be celebrating if you do not give up on Jesus.
Let me say this to you: Look to Jesus and begin to celebrate regardless of whatever struggle you may be going through. The words of Apostle Paul should be a source of encouragement to you.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose—Rom 8:28
Your testimony is along the way!
