Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper—Psalm 1:1-3.

The Good News Bible begins the first Psalm like this: ‘Happy are those…‘ The Amplified Bible is even more powerful, it puts the first line of the first Psalm like this: ‘BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man…’ The word ‘blessed’ therefore means ‘happy’.The word ‘happy’ is therefore found in the Bible! Therefore we now know that the Bible is not against being happy. It is therefore possible to be a Christian and be happy! This is contrary to what religion teaches. Thank God Christianity is not a religion. Christianity is a way of life. To be a Christian is to be like Christ. It is possible to be happy to Monday to Sunday; January to December! Someone will ask, “Is that possible?” The answer is a big ‘YES’. God can make it possible. With God all things are possible. Let me put in simple terms: When you obey God, He will cause events to occur in your life that will make you truly happy. Obedience to God is the secret for true happiness.
Let me also say something before I finish off. Look at the passage above again. It says: ‘that brings forth its fruit in its season’. It does not bring fruit all the time but in its season. I want to tell you the truth. You may not be experiencing breakthroughs now but your season is coming! Just keep on believing soon you shall see the rewards of your faithfulness.  You will soon be testifying of the goodness of God!
