Moreover the LORD spoke again to Ahaz, saying, “Ask a sign for yourself from the LORD your God; ask it either in the depth or in the height above."  But Ahaz said, "I will not ask, nor will I test the LORD!"  Then he said, "Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also? Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.  Isaiah 7:10-15 (NKJV)

Christmas is a wonderful time of celebration. It is a great time to reunite with family and friends. Christmas is a time when we remember the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ into this world. The word Immanuel means God with us.  God chose to come down and be with us in the Person of Jesus Christ. I want to share with you the value of the sign of Immanuel. What is the real significance of the sign of Immanuel? The Sign of Immanuel is a sign of the impossible becoming possible. The sign of Immanuel demonstrates the power of God. An unusual thing happened to show that it was God not man. Look at what the Bible says: Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. In the birth of Jesus the impossible happened. When the angel Gabriel came to Mary, she had this to say: "How can this be, since I do not know a man?"(Luke1:34). Mary knew that according to natural laws conception was impossible without knowing a man. But the angel answered her very clearly: "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God (Luke 1:35). Now I want you to listen very carefully. There are natural laws. But there are also spiritual laws. There are some things which are scientifically correct. There are some things which are spiritually correct. There are some things which make common sense I mean the five senses. There are some things which do not make common sense. There is what is called the sixth sense that is faith. Any one coming to God must remember that God operates outside the realm of the common senses. God is Spirit. God operates in spiritual realm. You can not prove God in a laboratory! You might have been told by your doctor that your disease is incurable. The doctor using the best available resources has reached that conclusion. Praise God, there is some thing beyond what the doctor says. There is God. God operates in the supernatural realm. I want to tell you some thing. The sign of Immanuel is the sign of the impossible becoming possible. The impossible can happen in your body today. The impossible can happen in your career today. The impossible can happen in your family today. Here is the fundamental truth: For with God nothing will be impossible (Luke 1:37). God also spoke a similar statement earlier on: Is anything too hard for the LORD (Genesis 18:14). I want you to know there is some thing beyond what the doctor told you. There is some thing beyond what your solicitor told you. There something beyond what your bank manager told you! If you can learn how to tap into the limitless resources of God then you will be in for signs and wonders and miracles. You might be asking, “How can I make this Christmas a time of impossibilities becoming possible?” Look at what a Mary did. Mary believed the word. Look at this: Then Mary said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38). Like Mary you too must believe the Word of the Lord. What ever the Word of God says about you, believe it. Believe that you are healed. Believe that you are prosperous. Believe that you have happy family. Believe that you are special. Every thing that you believe is what you will speak. As you believe and speak you will see the impossible becoming possible in your life. Let this Christmas be very unique in your life in Jesus Name!
