2 Kings 5:9-15

Then Naaman went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha's house.  And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean."  But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, "Indeed, I said to myself, 'He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.'  Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?" So he turned and went away in a rage. And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, "My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, 'Wash, and be clean'?"  So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, "Indeed, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel..."
Naaman was probably right in that Jordan was very muddy. Naaman did not know that in the school of faith it is not common sense but faith sense. The mother of Jesus gave the formula for a life of miraculous: whatever He says to you, do it! (John 2:5)  That is the key to living a life of faith. Let me mention it again. Whatever He says to you, do it! It is not political correctness but spiritual correctness. It is not what makes sense to the natural man, but what makes sense to the spirit man. Obedience to the word of God is the key to a life of pleasing God. If He says jump you better jump! If He says sit down you better sit down! If He says forgive you better forgive! If He says give your tithe you better give your tithe. Whatever He says to you, do it. When it comes to pleasing God you have to lay aside popular opinions and take on God’s opinion.  God is only committed to His word. God will never go against His word.
