Now the LORD said to Samuel," How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided myself a king among his sons."
1 Sam 16:1 (NKJV)
There are things in your life which God has rejected. There are people in your life whom God has rejected. There are some habits in your life which God has rejected. One fundamental teaching of scripture is to keep away from everything that God has rejected. You are not supposed to mourn for that which God has rejected.
Samuel anointed Saul to be king of Israel. When Saul began to rule all the eyes of Israel were focused on him because we are told, 'There was not a more handsome person than he among the children of Israel' 1 Sam 9:2 (NKJV). Saul was admired by everyone in Israel for his good looks. Everyone wanted him to be the king!  Unfortunately Saul failed to carry out what God had told him to do. Disobedience was the cause of Saul's failure. Disobedience was the cause of misery in Saul's life. Disobedience remains the number one cause of misery in people's lives today. It was disobedience that took Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden; Disobedience took Lucifer from the presence of God; disobedience led to Achan's destruction and humiliation for the whole camp of Israel; disobedience led to the destruction of Judas Iscariot; many are the victims of disobedience and its effects are devastating: broken homes, sickness and disease, poverty, unemployment just to name a few.
On the other hand Jesus won by obedience.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,  but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.  And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.  Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,  and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:5-11(NKJV)
It is time to be completely yielded to God. We can only relate with God on His terms. Any thing in you that would lead to your downfall let it be removed in Jesus name. As you commit yourself to principles of the word of God you will prevail in Jesus name
